In the beginning there was the idea of making rare radio recordings, which German bands recorded in the early s at the then radio station Südwestfunk now Südwestrundfunk , accessible to a larger audience. So the first six Long Hair releases were exclusively CDs with recordings of unknown bands who, after a selection process, had earned recording dates for their music at the Südwestfunk studio.

Since this was obviously well received, we looked for further albums but also still unissued tape recordings of progressive and psychedelic groups of the early s which we could release. It was rather difficult, there were many things to consider, rights had to be acquired, recordings had to be edited, printed matter had to be created, texts had to be written and finally the finished product had to be brought to the interested listeners.

Over the years, after all it is now 20 years that the label exists, we have gained experience, made many contacts with musicians, radio stations and record companies, experienced good luck in mastering and editing the music recordings and found creative graphic designers, so that we declare: As long as we find interesting recordings worthy of release, be they from vinyl or tape, Long Hair will go on.

Excellent intelligent progressive-Krautrock, with self composed long tracks drenched in occasional classic and heavy blues rock. A truly amazing discovery and a must for all Krautrock fans. Over 78 minutes superb rock, with superb guitar, bass, violin, organ and piano. Coupla Prog from South-West-Germany actually played very individual underground or progressive music.

Heavy blues rock, electronic music, free style, occassional classical music references and echoes of post SYD BARRET era PINK FLOYD; VANILLA FUDGE but also PROCOL HARUM distinguished the sound of the band. Coupla Prog productions were extremly varied, never commercially oriented but always homogenous and exiting music, which occasionally diverged from the well travelled tracks of Kraut and progressive rock.

Talented craftsmen, they captured the Zeitgeist of the era. All tracks recorded from the original Master's studio tape on Fashion Pink were formed in by Roland Schaeffer. These young and enthusiastic guys, all well educated on their instruments from early age on, developed a complex and refined music.

Influenced by such acts like "JETHRO TULL CARAVAN SOFT MACHINE and FRANK ZAPPA" but also "JIMMY HENDRIX, BEATLES and ROLLING STONES", the boys created a varied and exciting music, which diverged from the well travelled tracks of Kraut and progressive rock. Tells the story of a young guy under the revolutionary disorders in South America during the late 60's and early 70's.

This superb psychedelic underground music recorded at the SWF studio Baden-Baden Germany. Fantastic organ work all over, guitar, fuzz-bass, great vocals and emotional drums. An art-treasure of music, excellent sound-quality, digitally remastered from the original tape.

Same vein as 1st album but more mature listen to fabulous track 'Electronic Baby' and you know what we mean.

This CD version has 5 bonus tracks ad liner notes by Bertus Borgers, leader of the band. A must, like the first one. Art work made by the famous Dutch comic artists JOOST SWARTE! Split CD by two bands from South-West-Germany. Over 60 minutes music, guitar dominated, melodical, produced in Progressive blues-rock with flute Violence Fog and echoes of West-Coast-Music Jerusalem.

Digital remasterd from the original tape. A direction like BEATLES-'White Album', but more psychedelic songs. Every track is pure emotional music, plenty more of lyrical sound with superb flute and great harmony vocals, included a 17 min track 'A soldiers songbook' from the Beatnik-Film 'Wer im Glashaus liebt oder der Graben' by Michael Verhoeven.

A real gigantic musical trip!
